The ICRC Delegation in Libya has a vacancy for:
Water and Habitat (WatHab) Assistant
The position will be based in the Tripoli Sub Delegation
Main responsibilities:
- In coordination with the Water and Habitat (WatHab) delegate, plans, organises and participates actively in meetings with authorities, private companies and humanitarian organisations
- Accompanies the Water and Habitat (WatHab) delegate to said meetings, interprets, takes minutes of meeting and ensures follow-up.
- Supports the Water and Habitat WatHab delegate and team to implement WatHab activities regarding structural support in detention (prisons and migrant centres). This requires coordination with the Protection department
- Drafts correspondence for authorities (eg. water authorities and detention authorities).
- In charge of Water and Habitat database for reporting of all WatHab projects.
- Prepares time reporting, contributes to and compiles the WatHab section of the WOR (weekly operational report), the Quarterly Report, or other reports, based on information received from the Engineers and WatHab delegate.
- Carries out secretarial tasks such as making photocopies, destroying documents and managing stationary stocks.
- Translates Agreement, Reports, Specifications, etc upon request
- Coordinates with the other departments in the delegation (Logistics, Finance and Administration) in what concerns his/her work. This includes the preparation of requisition orders (RO), follow-up with LOG on ROs and Purchase Orders (PO), and follow-up on payments to contractors/service providers.
- In charge of preparing the WatHab Weekly Movement Plan (WMP) and submitting by email to Deputy Head of Sub-Delegation (DHoSD). Liaises with Travel Department for the WatHab team movements and accommodation needs.
Required background, skills and experience:
- High school level or University degree in relevant field
- 1-2 years’ work experience in a similar function
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and Outlook.
- Arabic native with good oral and written communication skills in English
- Rigorous and trustful person
- Excellent organizational and methodical abilities, sense of initiative and pro-activeness
- Service-oriented, with a strong sense of priorities and flexibility
- Very good communication skills.
- Very good analytical skills
- Management Skills
- Interest for humanitarian activities (especially ICRC’s).
