Senior Geochemist

Main function of the job: –

The Senior Geochemist will be responsible for providing analysis and interpretation of petroleum systems and all geochemical data for exploration, development and production projects also deploying and testing new technology and methodology within the geochemistry in collaboration with the department geoscientists.

Duties and Responsibilities: –

Provide assessments for source rock distribution, maturity, timing of charge, hydrocarbon volumes and provide integrated solutions to complex problems. – Assist geoscientists in asset teams in the selection of sampling points and appropriate geochemical data analysis. – Collaborate with assets geoscientists to provide geochemistry as a fully integrated part of basin, prospect, field or well analysis. – Recognize, develop and communicate innovations and technological advances in petroleum systems and geochemistry across the company. – Maintain geochemical databases; drive improvements in data management of geochemical data. – Meet company health, environmental, safety and corporate responsibility expectations in business dealings and during geochemical projects executions. – Mentor junior personnel and ensure technology transfer to asset teams. – Interpreting a wide range of data and analysing results. – Undertaking field visits to collect site samples. – Developing databases to track and organize information. – Maintaining detailed records of all samples collected, including location data and sample analysis results. – Preparing reports on sample analysis findings and conclusions and present to management.

Education
Masters (required) – PhD (preferred) Degree in Geochemistry

Experience
Minimum 10 years of Oil and Gas industries Including petroleum systems, geochemistry and analytical methods also experience and sound understanding of the integration of petroleum system, geochemical data and analysis as well as mastery in the design of geochemical sampling. – Ability to use petroleum systems and geochemistry software.

– Good English written and verbal communication skills. – Strong interpersonal, management and technical analysts skills. – Computer skills MS office.
