Job Overview

The Project Officer – Information Management (IM), under the supervision of the Site Management Team Leader and the technical guidance of the Project Manager/Coordinator is responsible for the management, analysis and sharing of data related to Site Management Support (SMS) activities, with the aim to provide reliable, quality and comprehensive information relevant to the program. The Project Officer – IM, is responsible also for developing tools and processes, managing databases, and ensuring data confidentiality processes are in place and respected. The Project Officer – IM, works closely with the SMS team and Project Manager/Coordinator to ensure information is used to inform programming, and conducts capacity-building of SMS team, as well as other staff as necessary. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

 

  • Ensure the SMS team has tools, processes, and capacity in place to collect, store, and analyze accurate and timely information and data on sites/areas where migrant, refugee and IDP communities located, to identify gaps and needs and support humanitarian programming in the sites/areas
  • Ensure regular, clear internal and external communication and reporting of data and information from DRC areas of intervention
  • Draft information products such as reports, charts and infographics by turning data into graphic products to facilitate the dissemination of information to external stakeholders for the purpose of reporting, information sharing and advocacy. To this end, designs the layouts of reporting and presentation templates using graphic design programs ensuring the attractiveness and clarity of the information products.
  • Ensure availability of updated and quality information for informed decision-making by DRC’s program team by identifying pertinent variables, including analyzing and interpreting multiples datasets, identifying trends and patterns in protection issues and humanitarian needs affecting DRC’s populations of concerns.

Ensure the compliance of information systems and process with the applicable standards and guidelines related to information management and data protection, including the Protection Information Management (PIM) standards and principles and DRC’s internal guidelines.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to:

 

2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in information management, database management, mapping and web development

• Knowledge of different data collection methodologies and proven capacity to analyze statistical information

• Proven abilities in data collection, compilation, analysis and reporting with ability to write in a clear and concise manner and effective oral communication

• Proven skills in infographic management

• Advanced English proficiency

• Fluency in local language

Required

University degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Social Sciences or a relevant field

 

Desirable

  • Advanced English and Arabic
  • Basic knowledge of French is an asset
