Background |
|
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The UN Women Executive Director frequently engages with Member States, Civil Society, academia, private sector partners and others on issues that seek to advance women´s empowerment. She gives high level remarks on sustainable development, peace and security and global challenges. As a native Arabic speaker, and Arabic being an official language of the United Nations, she often engages in Arabic on these issues. Translating speeches loses a lot of their meaning, as such, UN Women is seeking a consultant to support in taking UN Women messages and knowledge products and developing them into effective communication pieces.
