Job Overview
Job Purpose:
In accordance with the instructions received by and under the supervision of INTERSOS Project Manager, the Centre Manager will be responsible for the planning and implementation of all INTERSOS educational and protection activities within the centre. Currently this includes learning support services and PSS activities, alternative educational and protection pathways.
He/She will ensure provision of a safe and quality educational learning environment which fosters a sense of comfort, security and a sense of normalcy and will work to improve the level of general well-being of children and youth in the centre.
Specific Duties:
The Centre Manager will provide overall supervision, mentoring and support to all the INTERSOS staff deployed in Baity centre. S/he will also guarantee proper evaluation of the impact of the intervention. The Centre Manager is responsible for all matters related to the Centre, including:
- With the support and under the supervision of the Project Manager, design and follow up the plan of actions to guide and monitor the implementation of education and protection activities.
- Participate in recruitment of all center staff, according to INTERSOS principles and standards.
- Supervise social workers and monitor the activities and ensure achieving the project’s objectives according to the agreed-on indicators.
- Ensure equal access for girls and boys through intensive community outreach, arranging and providing other gender-based considerations as deemed necessary.
- Manage scheduling, attendance and performance of all educational centre staff
- Provide support through guidance and advice for teachers/social workers, outreach workers and facilitators as needed.
- Identify skills that need improvement and development within the main subjects taught in the centre and according to the context.
- Sensitize the community informing about the centre activities and encouraging participation;
- Design a variety of entertainment and attractive activities for students.
- Provide to INTERSOS detailed weekly report including all data, activities and events that have been carried out during the whole week.
- Prepare monthly comprehensive report regarding activities, achievements, progress and challenges to be shared with the Project Manager
- Guarantee the implementation of the SOPs procedures and the standard of quality of the activities in terms of PSS, Education, referral system and coordination.
- Ensure coordination with other (education/protection) and other service providers in the same area if any.
- Promote and support adherence to agreed interagency Child Protection standards
S/he will perform any other tasks requested by the supervisor in the framework of the activities foreseen by INTERSOS program in Libya.

- Strictly follow the internal procedures and guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
Required qualification and experience
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in social studies, education, humanitarian actions or any related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience as centre manager, school principal, head teachers or similar.
- At least 2 years of professional experience working with children and youth
- Excellent Arabic and English required, both spoken and written, French is an asset
