Position: Civil Engineer

Report to: Project Manager
Status: Full time
Job Purpose:
The Engineer will provide technical support to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of Quick Impact Projects in Tripoli and other locations in West East and South Libya.
Main responsibilities and tasks

Design technical initial evaluation in the selected areas to determine building rehabilitation needs
-
Conduct assessment visits to the selected location and conduct the technical evaluation in line with designed criteria
-
Define the Bill of Quantities and the specification of the works required
-
Provide technical advice in the selection of construction company to perform the works
-
Provide weekly reports on the work progress status
-
Design and implement technical interim evaluation in the selected areas to monitor rehabilitation works and suggest adjustments/modifications
-
Design and implement technical final evaluation in the selected areas to assess and certify the works implemented
-
Provide comprehensive and detailed reports about the conducted assessments according to Project Manager requirements

Support the monitoring of rehabilitation works
-
Provide technical knowledge on national and international rules, regulations, and standards in the field of construction to ensure compliance and accountability

Liaise with governmental engineers/officers in the coordination and realization of the

Liaise with UNHCR technical staff in the coordination and realization of the works
-
Ensure adherence to INTERSOS and donor’s administrative rules and regulations

Requirements:
-
Hold an advanced degree in civil engineering.
-
Minimum 2 years relevant working experience in civil engineering, constructions, rehabilitations and related fields, of which at least 1 year of work experience in the humanitarian field with INGOs.

Good written and spoken English is an asset.

Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and Outlook.

Very good communication skills.

Good skills in using AutoCAD software.
