Job Summary
Operate steam, gas, electric motor, or internal combustion engine driven compressors. Transmit, compress, or recover gases, such as butane, nitrogen, hydrogen, and natural gas.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, and heavy machinery.
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).
- Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
- Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles.
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
Job Specification
Vocational Training: A high school diploma or more preferably an associate degree in industrial equipment technologies, mechanic is required
Vocational Career: Approximately 10 years experience in a relevant field.
Skills and Ability
- Knowledge of cement industry best practices and safety procedures
- Attention to accuracy / Precision
- Ability to propose innovative solutions
- Reading plans, digrams & sketshs
- Current and valid certification a plus
- Experience working on construction sites and with power tools
