Under the guidance and supervision of the Administrative/Finance Officer, the driver/logistics clerk provides reliable/safe driving services and logistical support to OCHA Tunis. The driver/logistics clerk demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of Key Functions:
Provision of reliable and secure driving services
Proper use of vehicle
Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle
Provision of logistical support
Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services by driving office vehicles for the transport of UN personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.
Ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle, cleanliness, and regular checking of the vehicle parts;
Maintains the vehicle logbook properly filled out with fleet information as well as invoices for fuel and maintenance of the vehicle and making sure it is signed by the authorizing officer;
Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, washing of the vehicle, performs minor repairs by self and arranges for other repairs to ensure that the vehicle is ready for use;
Report immediately to office and supervisor any accident, mechanical failure occurring during a trip in or outside the city;
Keep records of use of vehicle daily mileage trips, fuel consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.
Use radio communication and carry out tasks as directed by the supervisor and shall remain vigilant and professional all the time on duty;
Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
Full compliance with implementation of all security measures for the passengers and the vehicle during all the trips regardless of the location, destination and distance of travel.
Good Interpersonal skills, ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Keeps records of office inventory and ensures physical verification is done at the end of the year.
Supports the Administrative Associate in managing office stationery/supplies including maintenance of stock levels/ordering lead time and also ensure distribution of stationery to staff.
Maintenance of office filing system and ensuring safekeeping of confidential materials.
Supports the office on logistical matters for incoming missions.
Arranges airport transport services for all international arrivals and departures including, as necessary, protocol formalities such as VIP lounge opening for high level missions, welcoming travelers at the airport, and clearing them through Immigration and Customs.
Arranges hotel and car rental reservations for official visiting missions or newly arrived international staff and negotiates best discount rates for such services.
Ensures timely issuance and renewal of access to UN Common Premises for staff and partners (NGOs);
Serves as the focal person between OCHA Tunisia and Tunisia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on protocol issues; processing of visa/visa extensions for the international staff, follow up and collection.
Update UNDSS Libya on staff rotation/movements between Libya and Tunisia.
Event facilitation; timely booking of workshop venue, catering services.
Perform any other relevant duties as required.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Secondary Education. Valid authorized driving license
Experince:
Minimum of 3 year’s work experience as a driver/clerk; safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills of minor repair. Experience working with an International organization is desirable
Language Requirements:
Fluency in Arabic and working knowledge of English is strongly required.
