Electromechanical Maintenance Engineer
We are currently looking for an Electromechanical l Maintenance Engineer for both planned and reactive machinery maintenance and repairs and general facilities maintenance :who has a hands-on approach to all aspects of this role.
The successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking activities on a diverse range of machinery and mechanical equipment. In addition, an accreditation in electrical is essential to the role , as replacing drive motors and other electrical breakdowns should be identified and repaired wherever necessary .
This role also has responsibility to ensure all equipments are kept in good repair, with emphasis on first class workmanship and an eye for detail, whilst ensuring conformity with health and safety regulations for staff and the factory.
Suitable candidates need to be Time Served or hold a Recognized Engineering / Maintenance Qualification, preferably from a similar manufacturing background. This is a hands on role involving both planned & reactive maintenance .
Our machinery includes PET blow machine, refilling machine , etc.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and securely , for both employees , machines and equipments ,ect.
- be proactive , with regard to maintaining machinery , recommend ongoing improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Advise management of any safety issues that need action and ensure that anything requiring urgent action is dealt with immediately.
- Ensure you are familiar with all existing equipments , where necessary make your manager aware of any shortfall in knowledge and suggest a way to overcome this.
- Seeking new initiatives to drive maintenance issues to a minimum.
- Carrying out routine maintenance work as per the schedule and respond to equipment fault/breakdowns as they occur
- Diagnosing breakdown problems and install / repair parts and making sure equipment is working correctly and the installation/ repair is documented. this may involve longer hours in the event of a machine breakdown.
- Troubleshoot faults with control gear and PLC systems.
- Install and commission equipment and machinery electrically , pneumatically and mechanically.
- Carrying out inspections on equipment and machinery and ensure they are fit for purpose and meets all safety requirements.
- Carrying out other property/facilities/maintenance duties as required including:
- monitoring setting and maintenance of the heating ,water equipment and lighting systems.
- general building maintenance (changing light bulbs, emergency light testing , basic maintenance ,plumbing and electrical work etc..)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Time served Multi skilled Engineer with electrical and mechanical bias is essential.
- Conversant with control gear , PLC systems and Motor drives, both AC and DC.
- 3phase power supply’s knowledge essential.
- knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems an advantage .
- Fabrication/welding experience preferred.
- Experience of electrical installation work .
- Experience with engineering and packaging machinery is desirable.
- Team player with good communication skills .
- Ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate good problem solving and decision making skills.
- Computer literate –Microsoft Excel / Word / Outlook and Internet .
- Conversant with H&S rules, regulations and best practices .
- Enthusiastic and flexible in approach and problem solving .
- Be able to perform a highly physical job .
- Ability to clearly and concisely record and convey information.
- Must be able to priorities workload .
- Flexible , as early starts or late finishes may be required and trustworthy .
