Position: French Educator
Report to: Center Manager Status: Non-employment agreement Duty station: Tripoli, Libya |
Key responsibilities:
S/he will be responsible, under the supervision of the Center manager and the technical support of the Education Facilitator, for the Implementation of Non- Formal Education sessions, for all Beneficiaries attending BAITY Center or enrolled in outreach cycle.
Responsibilities/duties:
- Implement Non- formal education sessions, following a student – centered teaching method, inclusive and activity based.
- Prepare and construct NFE plans for the Subjects / Age groups they’ve been assigned by the Center manager to present to the Education Facilitator for approval.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment within the classroom, adhering to child protection principles; report and share with the center manager ideas on creating this environment.
- Follow positive discipline techniques when interacting with the children.
- Maintain the state of the furniture and supplies provided in the classroom.
- Follow the schedule for NFE sessions set by the Center manager.
- Inform Social workers of any factors that can cause risks to the children in the classroom.
- Identify and refer children at risk to the case management unit.
Other responsibilities:
- Uphold the INTERSOS Code of Conduct and policies.
- Ensure the respect of the core humanitarian principles: neutrality, impartiality, independence and humanity and the respect of the “do no harm” principle of humanitarian action.
- Strictly follow the internal procedures and guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
Study background
- Bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma.
- Language test score or equivalent proof of competency in the English language.
Experience
- Previous teaching experiences
- Prefer previous experience in volunteering and humanitarian work
Soft skills
- Basic competency in Microsoft office package
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work in a fast paced and stressful work environment
Communication skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Languages
- French, Arabic: Mandatory
- English is a welcomed addition.
