Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Information Technology /Database officer and direct supervision
of the National IM/ICT Officer, the Information Management Assistant is responsible for support all
aspects and functions of the Information Management tools, including IOM emergency response, data
collection activities and various activities or projects which may develop within the Information
Management & Technology.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Follow all and implement ICT polices, guidelines and standard in IOM Libya. and work
towards adherence to ICT strategy, to reach better efficiency.
2. Provide end user support and ensure that all ICT Issue tickets and queries are logged and
resolved appropriately, meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements (SLA). Escalate to
the supervisor and/or Global User Support (GUS) when necessary.
3. Provide support for planned technology upgrades for network, systems and applications; including servers and WAN/LAN; and maintain and ensure availability and capacity of existing network, systems and applications (core services) in coordination with the Global User Support.
4. Perform agreed tasks and collaborate with relevant units, when assigned, for joint development and delivery of new applications, systems and networks.
5. Perform monitoring of systems, network (LAN, WAN), applications and provide routine control of servers and data. Administer and monitor the electrical systems (UPS & Generators), Telephone IP systems IP PBX and security systems.
6. Manage problem solving, support and assistance for use of office technology (including but not limited to Microsoft Windows workstation, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat). Develop where necessary and provide training to staff/users to ensure productive use of existing, new systems and ICT tools and applications.
7. Install and re-locate the organizational unit’s hardware, coordinate equipment servicing and manage user account. Maintain an up to date IT inventory (hardware and software) and advice the management on assets that require replacement and software license renewal in a timely manner.
8. Support in producing and maintaining comprehensive documentation and reference materials for planned and delivered user and technical services when assigned.
9. Ensure data protection on data contained on all servers, make sure that Daily/weekly/monthly/yearly backup of data/information for Libya mission Office is done based on IOM ITC Standard. Prepare the mission ICT Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and ensure recovery functions are effective and working properly.
10. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
• University/Institute Degree in Computer Science/System Engineering with at least 2 years of working experience in network (LAN/WAN) administration. Use of hardware/software & telecommunications facilities.
Experience
• Minimum two years’ experience in implementation and administration of Microsoft Windows network environment (LAN/WAN) and first-level network/desktop support.
• Support and troubleshoot computer and network equipment, including Microsoft Office applications, Administration of a multi-site environment, TCP/IP, Telecoms, Network Protocols, Cisco devices, VPN, VoIP, Office 365, Antivirus Software and utilities

• Focuses on result for the client and respond positively to feedback consistently approaches work with energy and a positive & constructive Attitude Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexity.
• Correctly applies knowledge of specialized IT disciplines.
• Valid technical certifications (CCNA, MCP Windows/Exchange Server, MCSA /MCSE, ITIL Foundation) would be a distinct advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential data in a professional, responsible and mature manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues within a team from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
• Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language to non-technical staff and end-users knowledge of an issue-tracking system an advantage.
Languages
• Fluency in English and Arabic is required
• Working knowledge of French is an advantage
