RESPONSIBLE FOR:   E&P IT systems, Databases and Applications

 

LOCATION                  Tripoli                           Work Mode official office working time           

 

 

OBJECTIVES OF JOB

 

This challenging position calls for experienced System Engineer to execute, implement and support all business relevant E&P IT systems, databases and applications.

This position also acquires interact to identify, evaluate and install prober applications/ solution and tools for technical End- users.

In addition to the above, the E&P Systems Supporter must keep a good understanding of the other IT systems and databases in the organization both sites Tripoli & Field.

 

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  1. E&P Systems supporter. This includes but is not limited to help with the installation of servers and workstations homogenies environment (Linux/Windows), the monitoring of the E&P data backup procedures and the support of Linux operating system.
  2. Provide installation support for the main E&P department’s applications both on Linux as well as Windows Laptops & workstations, this includes but is not limited to Eclipse, Petrel, Petroleum Experts, Recall, IP, IP21, ArcGIS,Kappa …etc, other required applications and tools.
  3. E&P application ‘s License management (installation and prober configuration) to ensure the license validity and communicate expiry internally and to SW vendors in the right time.
  4. Responsible of E&P users accounts management exist on Linux environment and data disks mapping and accessibility cross OS environment (knowledge on samba configuration).
  5. Assist in identifying challenges and implement possible solutions for E&P software needs.
  6. Consult with vendors to implement E&P software installations, integration and provide demonstrations that will lead to enhance and improve the daily activities of the technical department.
  7. Taking active part in the planning & implementation of E&P systems certified solutions.
  8. Close work cooperation with DBA administrator to ensure the systematic requirements and grant linked E&P application up and running.
  9. Close Work collaboration with other ICT teams’ members, both in Tripoli as well as Field.
  10. Report regularly to DM coordinator work activity, requirement and proposed solutions in
  11. Written documentation of relevant business processes

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • IT specialist or geoscientist with a university degree in computer science or an equivalent
  • Industry experience in Windows, Linux systems administration, E&P applications, License management and database integration.
  • Understanding of visualization environment preferably having basic VMware knowledge
  • Familiarity with E&P systems storage performance,applicsations certified requirements.

 

Key Skills:

  • Data Management / Computer skills:
    • Expert knowledge of either Linux or Unix operating system and Microsoft Windows 10 operating system.
    • Good knowledge of IT infrastructures (servers, storage ,peripherals …,etc) .
    • Expert knowledge in one or more of the main G&G software packages used in oil companies.
    • Good knowledge of SQL, SQLplus and database query procedures
    • Good knowledge of Data Base Systems (ORACLE and/or SQLServer)
    • Experienced MS-Office user (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Geoscience,drilling,Production skills:
    • Knowledge of understanding of geological, geophysical and production workflow procedures and applications requirements.
  • Able to work effectively as a member of ICT/DM team.
  • Able to work and think across a range of disciplines.

  • Communications skills, the ability to professionally communicate with direct reporting team members and line managers.
