Position Title: MHPSS counselor.
Field Site: Sabha.

PLEASE NOTE: CONTRACT SIGNING WILL BE CONTINGENT UPON THE FUNDING AVAILABILITY
Main Tasks:
Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide specialized psychosocial support and assistance to clients and their families with mental health and psychosocial issues.
• Coordinate the provision of case management and psychosocial services to clients and families to enable these parties to deal with the impact of illness and stress on
individual family functioning and to achieve maximum benefits from healthcare services.
• Develop care plans that are individualized and mutually developed with the client, with a focus on any immediate safety concerns
• Conduct risk assessments and the development of safety plans.
• Complete all documentation requirements in a timely and comprehensive manner.
• Participate actively in supervision and training sessions provided by MHPSS Specialists.
• Provide awareness sessions and group supports alongside autonomously or in collaboration with multidisciplinary team staff on topics related to mental health and psychosocial functioning
• Develop and deliver training for medical teams on topics relevant to psychological
practice and case management.
• Take an active role in supporting the integration of mental health in the health system
(support the doctors in the field trained on Mhgap by receiving and referring referrals)
• Take an active role in the service mapping of the area
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Respect and prioritize client confidentiality, boundaries, and any conflicts of interest to ensure the protection of all clients and their families.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by MHPSS Specialists.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Holds a degree in social work, psychology, or any other related field
2. Has a minimum of 1 year’ clinical skills and experience in the provision of mental health or psychosocial support.
3. Previous experience working in an NGO is preferred
4. Commitment to humanitarian principles
5. Advanced computer skills, ability to document work electronically
6. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
7. Flexibility and adaptability to shifting working environments
8. Diplomatic and able to network and build good working relationships
9. Good communication skills
10. Able to provide feedback/reports regarding work-related activities
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Advanced command of verbal and written English & Arabic is required.

Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst
beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps
Any other duties that may be assigned from time by supervisors
