Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Senior Resource Management officer, and direct supervision
of the Information Technology /Database officer. The Information Management Assistant is
responsible for supporting all aspects and functions of the Information Management tools,
including IOM emergency response, data collection activities and various activities or projects
which may develop within the Information Management & Technology.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Supervise ICT Tier 1 staff in Tripoli and Tunis suboffice.
2. Install, configure, implement, and administer network connectivity (LAN/WAN/Wireless access points/VPN/Servers)
3. Assist in the planning and development of IT networks and system infrastructure including telecoms, identifying and proactively recommending required upgrades and modifications ensuring consistent service availability.
4. Undertake daily monitoring and maintenance of systems and networks (LAN, WAN, VPN, VOIP), ensuring uninterrupted service of mission-critical servers and systems.
5. Monitor completion and accuracy of server’s backup sets.
6. Install and configure SharePoint Online or Server on-premises, and provide maintenance and support to all its end users
7. Liaise with service providers for the provision of adequate IT services and supplies.
8. Manage the maintenance of IT inventory and documentation for hardware and software (media and licenses).
9. Monitor that all user support requests are addressed timely and accurately, with the corresponding allocation of resources.
10. Implement IOM IT Standards and IOM IT Policies and Guidelines in particular with regard to networks, systems, telecoms, IT procurement and information security.
11. Develop and implement, when necessary, ITC training to Tier-1 helpdesk support and end users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems
12. Undertake duty travel as required.
13. Any other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
• University/Institute Degree in Computer Science/System Engineering or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant experience.
Experience
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience and responsibility and good track record of skills and knowledge development
• Strong working knowledge of Internet protocols, and experience in managing Internet Mail gateways. • knowledge of Windows NT server, NT networking, domain level configuration and administration.
Skills
• Anticipates and prepares response to changing IT needs of the relevant organizational unit
• Delivers optimal IT solutions within defined resource parameters
Languages
• Fluency in English and Arabic is required
• Working knowledge of French is an advantage
