Action Against Hunger is a humanitarian association founded in 1979, the organization operates in 47 countries in the fields of nutrition, health, food security and livelihoods, water, hygiene and sanitation, mental health and healthcare. In Libya, AAH is mainly implementing projects in the fields of water, healthcare and livelihoods. In order to implement its current projects, AAH is looking for profiles in lines with the following requirement and job description:
Overall Objective
Improve access to primary health cares for children less than 5 years and infant in the supported structures by Action Against Hunger in Libya. Provided technical support to implement qualitative continuum of cares between primary and secondary level. Support capacity building regarding pediatric and neonatology for health workers within AAH’s area of intervention. 1) Improve infant and pediatric cares management at PHC level, and support the implementation of integrated pathway to secondary level of cares 2) Insure on-job, mentoring and coaching of the health workers, at PHC level, insuring sustainable access to qualitative health care within AAH’s intervention area.

Responsibilities and Tasks |
The Health Program Roving Specialist – Pediatric is responsible for: At PHC level, in collaboration with the Health worker’s team in the HF supported by AAH
o Support, when needed, Health and Nutrition Assessment and analysis of prevailing context of health and nutrition in the target area;

Objective 2 | Insure capacity building of the health’s workers involved in primary health cares thoward infant and children less than 5 years within AAH’s intervention areas |
Responsibilities and Tasks |
The Health Program Roving Specialist – Pediatric is responsible for:
o Support the implementation of programmes through coordination with partners and authorities o Engage mentoring and on-job training with the health workers from the HF supported by AAH; o Work in close collaboration with the other Health program Roving Specialist o Organise and lead weekly follow up meetings with the supported HF’s teams; o Collabra with partners by the ongoing provision of useful information and regular meetings o Evaluate the technical performance and skills of the health workers supported o Identifying the training needs among the team members o Support training implementation for health workers supported, facility the training sessions in coordination

Additional responsibilities | · This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other related tasks as required and is responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned task;
· The employee should be flexible and adaptable with regards to the implementation of the daily work/activities; · The employee is expected to conduct all duties in a professional manner following AAH Libya mission staff regulations and charter including the promotion of gender equality |

· Country Director-Technical Unit: line management, exchange of information and collaboration; · Nutrition and Health Team: exchange of information, coordination. · Country Director, WASH HoD, Finance HOD, Log HOD: exchange of information and collaboration. |
External | · NGOs and INGOs particularly those with whom we have partnerships;

POSITION REQUIREMENTS | |
QUALIFICATIONS | |
Certified Medical doctor, specialized in pediatric | |
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE | |
ESSENTIAL | · Minimum of 5 to 7 years of previous experience working in pediatric,
· Proven management and coordination skills; · Good diplomatic and negotiation skills; · Proven experience on leading active and motivating trainings, develop a good group dynamic, and facilitate the learning through adapted teaching techniques · Fluent in English (professional English); · Fluent in Arabic; · Excellent verbal and written skills; · Ability and willingness to travel regularly to the field sites; · Working experience in Libya is compulsory · Handling office and computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) in his daily work |
PREFERRED | · Experience on Sexual and/or Reproductive Health preventive program is an asset;
· Experience in insecure context; · Experience in conflict-related displacements and crisis contexts; · Understanding of Social Behavior Change and nutrition sensitive programming; |
Location
· Tripoli with frequent visits to Sabha
