Position Title: Program Assistant – Volunteer
Location: Tripoli
Contract Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension
Reporting to: Program Manager
Start Date: 08/09/2024
Background:
Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Organization (STACO) is committed to delivering
humanitarian aid, development assistance, and advocacy across Libya. Our initiatives focus
on community development, education, healthcare, and providing essential aid to
vulnerable populations, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), migrants, and those
affected by crises.
As part of our efforts to support our expanding operations, we are seeking a dedicated
Program Assistant – Volunteer to support our Program Manager and contribute to the
successful implementation of various projects. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on
experience in program management within the humanitarian sector while supporting
impactful work on the ground.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the Program Manager with the coordination and implementation of STACO’s
projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.
• Support in the preparation of project documents, including reports, proposals, and
monitoring tools.
• Maintain accurate records of program activities, including monitoring data and
beneficiary feedback.
• Assist in the organization of workshops, training sessions, and other events related to
STACO’s programs.
• Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, including beneficiaries, donors,
and local partners, to facilitate program delivery.
• Provide logistical and administrative support, including scheduling meetings,
preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
• Support the collection and management of data for reporting and evaluation
purposes

Ensure that all activities are in line with STACO’s mission and values, maintaining a
high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Program Manager that contribute to the
successful delivery of the program.
Requirements:
• Education: A university degree in social sciences, development studies,
international relations, or a related field is preferred but not .
• Experience: Previous experience in an administrative or program support role is
preferred, preferably within the NGO or humanitarian sector.
• Skills and Competencies:
o Strong organizational and time management skills.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
o Ability to work in a team and under tight deadlines.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
o Fluency in Arabic; and working knowledge of English.
o Commitment to STACO’s mission and humanitarian principles.
