Position Title: Psychiatrist‐ part-time.

Number of Positions: 1.

Field Site: Tripoli.

Deadline: 10th March 2022

 

PLEASE NOTE: CONTRACT SIGNING WILL BE CONTINGENT UPON THE FUNDING AVAILABILITY

 

Main Tasks:

Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Conduct 3 days weekly (24 hours) job at health facilities to deliver clinical consultations.
    2. Working within the framework of WHO & IMC guidelines.
    3. Provide individual counseling sessions with severe cases that may need a higher level of intervention.
    4. Provide on-call based psychiatric consultations and appropriate treatment in case of emergency.
    5. Consult with MHPSS Specialists on all job duties and responsibilities.
    6. Ensure documentation of the visits
    7. Ensures patient confidentiality and respect of medical ethics
    8. Support the integration of mental health at the health facility level and provide feedback to clinic and IMC management.
    9. Support the integration of the MH services at different medical facilities, including PHC and/or secondary care by conducting site visits to support the doctors trained on Mhgap
    10. Support implementation and ensure the effectiveness of referral pathways to higher-level specialized mental health care.
    11. Attend and participate in regular departmental, program, and feedback meetings as scheduled
    12. Follow security protocols including travel request submission to security focal point and supervisor
    13. Follow up the supplies of psychotropic medications to the targeted health facilities.
    14. Liaise with IMC Health Technical Unit MHPSS team by way of the MHPSS Specialist

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  1. Holds a degree in medicine with specialization in psychiatry and holds current license/registration
    2. Has a minimum of 3 years’ clinical skills and experience in mental health and/or management of MNS disorders.
    3. Skills and experience with administrative aspects of managing MNS disorders, including recordkeeping, follow-ups, and referral
    4. Advanced computer skills, ability to document work electronically
    5. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
    6. Flexibility and adaptability to shifting working environments
    7. Diplomatic and able to network and build good working relationships
    8. Able to provide feedback/reports regarding work-related activities

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Advanced command of verbal and written English & Arabic is required.

OTHER COMMENTS:

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps

Any other duties that may be assigned from time by supervisors

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.
