INTRODUCTION
Handicap International is an independent and impartial international solidarity organization, which intervenes in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflicts and disasters. Working alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, it acts and testifies, to meet their basic needs, to improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights.
CONTEXT
HI opened its projects in Libya in 2011. Due to the conflict and the instability of the country, the collapse of health services has considerably reduced assistance to the most vulnerable, especially the disabled. HI is currently implementing a humanitarian program from the operational bases in Tripoli, Misrata and Benghazi.
For security reasons, HI’s mission in Libya is managed remotely from Tunisia
OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
Psychosocial worker (Female) reporting to the project manager and supporting in implementation of AMAL projects activities in Misrata. Mainly identification of beneficiaries, assessment, follow up and conducting awareness rising sessions
DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION
- Identifying and assessing the specific needs of program beneficiaries
- To provide safe and appropriate MHPSS interventions
- Refer the beneficiary to other services as required including medical care facilities
- Develop and reinforce the relationships with stakeholders including INGOs, authorities
- Actively participate in data reporting, follow-up and management of beneficiary cases and organization of activities
- Participate in the reporting, discussion and analysis (both formal and informal) of global issues in the population, with a focus on MHPSS
- Participate in technical MHPSS and/or capacity building for staff at health facilities, partner organizations

PROFILE REQUIRED
Professional skills
- Bachelor degree in social work, Psychology or any other relevant qualification complement by 2 years of experience in Humanitarian sector or social work
- Minimum 2 years of experience with an INGO in a similar position
- Preferably Written and/or spoken English
- Libyan national, fluent in Arabic (written & spoken) is a must
Personal skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure in stressful situations
- Willing to travel \No double job
