Security Operations Manager (SOM)

 

Job Purpose

The Project Security Team within Security Side Ltd has responsibility for the effective management of all security risks and development of security plans for the projects.

As member of the team, the Local Security Operations manager assists in developing and designing appropriate security plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the context of operations related to specific projects which occur in multiple sites, in accordance with needs of the risk assessment.

You will ensure that the security function fully meets the security requirement standards

 

Roles and Responsibilities

With guidance from the Expat Security Operations Manager, the local SOM is expected to perform the following tasks:

·         Provide full Project oversight and control of all security operations

·         Coordinate security setup, processes, and operations in the duty area.

·         Produce and Develop security Standard Operational Procedures (SOP), plans and standing orders

·         Provide statistical and managerial reports on a regular basis.

·         Assisting in the establishment of new areas of operations, to include developing appropriate security concepts

·         Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events

·         Developing work schedules, allocating tasks, and monitoring personnel performance.

·         Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and security incidents.

·         Follow up and control the security budget and provide accurate information to the financial team

·         Produce training manual to relevant security staff in the need to the project

Provide feedback and advice on security risks, as well as resources, security documents, strategies and good practice for security management of the project.

 

Person specification & requirements

Essential:

  • Higher education, university degree in defense and/or security
  • Security professional with a proven management experience within the private security industry, the public sector or armed services, Minimum experience of 3 years.

Skills:

    • Proven experience in managing the Security Function
    • Experience of writing procedures, drafting SOPs
    • Knowledge of risk management
    • Good communication, co-ordination and interpersonal skills

Languages:

  • Strong computer and research skills
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Be able to multitask

Excellent command of oral and written English & Arabic
