The ICRC Delegation in Libya has a vacancy for:

Storekeeper

The position will be based in the Benghazi Sub Delegation

 

The Storekeeper is responsible for the proper handing and storage of goods in the warehouse in accordance with standard operating procedures. S/he Responsible for the assistance to the immediate supervisor in the discharge of his duties and, more specifically, for the reception and careful inspection of all items delivered to all types of stocks by either external suppliers or other ICRC sites, proper and careful storage of items and for their packing and loading for distribution to its ‘clients’

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Locking warehouse whenever no staff is present
  •  control of authorization to enter the warehouses of all personnel
  •  Ensuring that only authorized consignments leave the warehouses with appropriate documentation.
  •  Responsible for the maintenance of the warehouses as well as its infrastructure (pallets, shelving, electricity and water supply, lighting, air-conditioning)
  • Reporting any damages or need for repairs to the immediate supervisor.
  •  Maintaining tidiness and cleanliness of warehouse
  •  Ensuring proper storage of all goods and protecting them adequately from heat, freezing, water, fire, dirt and vermin
  •  Storage of all goods according to established ICRC standers.
  •  Keeping strict eye on rules applicable to DGR (Dangerous Goods Regulation) items, and controlled drugs if needed.
  •  Ensuring supervision of the Skilled Worker (attribution of duties, …).
  •  Keeping control on expiry dates for food and medical items if any and ensures adequate stock turnover; i.e. ensuring that FEFO principle is respected; indicates items with short expiry date directly to LOG or throughout immediate supervisor.
  •  Ensuring the daily maintenance of the Stock and Bin cards
  •  Regularly running statistics for all types of stocks managed by the Warehouse
  •  Ensuring the follow-up of the correspondence for all the stocks / filling
  •  Keeping filling system transparent and readable
  •  Reporting to the Immediate supervisor regularly
  •  Supervising and assisting the clean and safe unloading of arriving consignments and checking that all consignments are accompanied by their respective waybills and packing lists
  •  Comparing the number of parcels to the delivery form/Waybill, signing the delivery forms and transferring the cargo to the stocks
  •  Performing a quality control (kind of good, quantity, packaging, shelf life, labeling etc.) of all arriving goods
  •  In coordination with the Purchase unit, carefully inspecting supplier’s deliveries in terms of quality and quantity and comparing those with the Purchase Order
  •  Regularly making quality control of stocked items assisted by the Skilled Worker and in coordination with the Purchasing unit.
  •  If due to any objective reason food or drugs on stock come up close to expiry date (less then 6 months for drugs), preparing list of short expires and submitting it to WH manager for action. For expired items, preparing Claim Report in coordination with the Logistics department, picking items from the stock, storing them in a separate area and starting procedure for destruction in close cooperation with immediate supervisor and Logistics department (and Medical if needed)
  •  Picking and packing consignments according to stock requisition (or equivalent) issued by LOG
  •  Recording any discrepancies between the batches stated in the stock requisition and actually picked batches
  •  Reporting any discrepancies Immediate Supervisor and correcting all related documents
  •  Packing cold chain items in appropriate cold boxes with sufficient ice packs according to the equipment instructions
  •  Supervising safe and clean loading of consignment
  • Implementing regular ad hoc inventory on request or spontaneously
  •  Taking active support role in the yearly or Ad Hoc formal inventory
  •  Informing the immediate supervisor of any movement of items that does not follow the normal routines
  •  Replacing the Skilled Worker in his absence
  •  Replacing the immediate supervisor in one or all his duties during absence
  •  Performing any other activities upon request of immediate supervisor

 

 

Required background, skills and experience:

  •  1-3 years in same field of activity
  •  Good Verbal and basic written knowledge of English language.
  •  High school is a minimum.
  •  Technical or commercial high school degree is an asset.
  •  Computer literate: Microsoft office
