Y-PEER is a global network of more than 2,000 non-profit organizations, governmental institutions, CBOs, institutions, youth activists, young peer educators, and trainers. It has over 33,000 young members from 59 countries including Libya – from 2010 – who work in promoting young people’s sexual and reproductive health, including physical and mental health-related to HIV/AIDS, maternal health, gender-based violence, youth participation, civic engagement, and development of a culture of citizenship.

 

Background:

Y-PEER is recruiting a Supply Chain Officer for a project designed to promote peace and reconciliation. The project will incorporate a people-to-people approach and empower youth to advance peace, stability, and dialogue through organized groups, civic participation, positive media, and localized peace projects.  The project will enable youth groups of each city to work with municipal councils and other relevant actors to promote peace processes, reconciliation, and peaceful co-existence. Activities will mitigate conflicts from escalating by providing targeted support to peace actors, community-level leaders/groups and influencers, and constituent-responsive authorities who are engaged in, or wish to be engaged in, peace-building, conflict mitigation, and reconciliation.

 

Position Summary:

 

The Y-PEER is seeking a qualified Supply Chain Officer who is responsible for supporting the project team and ensuring that all procurements are done on a timely basis without compromising known Y-PEER standards. The Supply Chain Officer will be responsible for following up on certain procurements remotely in different sites as needed and will work closely with all sectors to ensure that planned activities are implemented accordingly.

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • 1. Work on collecting offers and completing purchase orders to get the right products
    2. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and customers
    3. Work to complete the activities of the organization’s equipment
    4. Prepare regular reports to help track the progress of the supply and processing process to ensure deadlines are met.
    5. Controlling the processing, delivery, and receiving processes between customers and the work team
    6. Preparing needs presentations and supervising the needs memorandum process in each project of the organization.
    7. Plan and implement a logistic strategy, ensuring goals are achieved.
    8. Hold regular meetings with relevant employees to discuss challenges facing the procurement process.
    9. Oversee the storage, handling, and distribution of the organization’s goods, products and tools
    10. Follow up on supply chain operations and ensure that they are completed on time
    11. Follow up on the organization’s workplace equipment and cover its basic operational needs
    12. Managing the follow-up records of equipment and purchases of the organization.
    13. Any other related responsibilities assigned to it by the line manager.

Duty station:  Misrata.

Supervisor: Projects Coordinator, in close coordination with the CEO.
