Purpose/Objectives |
T With the support of the Education Officer, the Teacher Team Leader (TTL) will be responsible for the
planning, implementation, supervision and reporting of educational activities in the target area and of the supervision of the non-formal education teachers. The teacher team leader will work closely with the Education Facilitator and the Centre Manager. |
Responsibilities/duties: |
● Plan, supervise, and implement the non-formal education programs and activities in accordance with the education objectives ● Adapt the education program and activities to the needs of individual children, taking into account their interests, special needs and talents, learning difficulties, cultural and socioeconomic background. ● Design, implement, and revise catch-up programs, remedial classes and other alternative educational activities, in coordination with the education specialist and education officer. ● Participate in the design and implementation of trainings for teachers and social workers ● Lead the design and implementation of teaching plans focusing on the development of teacher approaches to the instruction. ● Lead the design and delivery of learning materials and resources under the technical supervision of the education specialist and officer ● Reinforce effective teaching models and work habits among teachers ● Design educational activities and learning assessment for both inside and outside the school or Baity Centers, including supplementary/non-classroom activities. ● Assist in the selection of educational materials, equipment, and other instructional resources in coordination with teachers, activity coordinators, and education officers. ● Ensure that teachers and other education staff treat children with dignity and respect. ● Manage and supervise a team of teachers in the target location. ● Other duties, as assigned. |
Qualification/level requirements
Minimum requirements |
· Bachelor’s degree in English language, Arabic language, mathematics, or computer science. · At least 4 years’ work experience as a teacher teaching English language, Arabic language, or mathematics. · Good understanding of humanitarian principles and protection guidelines. · Demonstrated experience in the following: à Experience in program design, implementation, management, and evaluation of education projects. à Experience working on programs focused on teacher professional development (pre-service and/or in-service training). à Technical experience in designing and implementing non-formal education programs for children and youth in a post-conflict context. à Prior experience working on similar projects in one of the target locations. à Experience in the following areas: developing teacher training curricula and materials (especially targeting literacy, numeracy, student assessments, and inclusive education); training teachers; designing and managing teachers in real classrooms; teacher supportive supervision. à Demonstrated experience successfully interacting with Ministry of Education officials and with education stakeholders. |

· Native Arabic – EXCELLENT written and spoken English
