Job Description

The Valves Application Engineer will support commercial operations, for a valves international manufacturer, selling products in Libya. The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical -or- instrument engineering and experience in the technical application of OEM valve products.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Instrument Engineering or relevant Engineering field.
2. Strong language and technical communication skills (English & Arabic).
3. Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
4. Libyan resident or holding a valid visa or work permit

Job Responsibilities

1. – Supporting proposal development for direct and indirect sales opportunities for the valves business.
2. Supporting with application engineering expertise as part of the pre-ITO (requisition) process. ITO includes Technical analysis of client need: definition and optimization of the products; scope (description); schedule; industrial scheme; cost, considering contract and internal policies and procedures. Documentation of technical specifications & costing elements for further contract execution phases.
3. Supporting with commercial proposals, training, customer engagement, and application engineering.
4. Providing key knowledge on valves and guidance during the deal review process to ensure that all technical risks, mitigation, and business risks acceptance levels are properly incorporated in the development of the scope, cost, and proposal wording to meet customer and manufacturing requirements.

Job Requirements

1. Understand the goals of application engineering and determine necessary technologies.
2. Engineer with 2 to 4 years technical experience in Control Valves, Safety Valves, and Level Transmitters – valves selections, sizing, and datasheets.
3. Have strong IT and computer software packages skills.
4. Have experience working in diverse, virtual teams.
5. Have strong oral and written communication skills.
6. Have effective problem identification and solution skills.
7. Have the ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
8. Ability to collaborate with other engineering teams and product teams.
9. Have Technical Negotiation skills
