MSF has been working in Libya since 2011. MSF is working in the fields of mental health, pediatrics, patient health, and with refugees and migrants in several areas of Libya.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out surveillance and guard activities in MSF facilities, in accordance with the organization’s protocols and security rules, in order to ensure the safety and security of all mission personnel and buildings.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Combing the perimeter of the organization, directing people to the reception desk during working hours, and communicating with the administration to permit entry of individuals.
- Monitoring the MSF headquarters and the fence surrounding the property through regular patrols and stay on duty until the arrival of the other monitor. Never leave the place unattended.
- Regulating vehicle traffic inside the building and directing it inside and outside the building.
- Verifying that doors and windows are locked and lights out when employees leave the workplace. Verify that the security lights are working well and inform the line manager of any potential problems.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the area inside the organization’s building, and maintaining the general maintenance activities of the garden (such as: mowing the weeds, preserving the plants, pruning trees if necessary, etc.)
- Maintaining guard tools such as flashlights and other lighting tools, returning used batteries, and always keeping spare batteries, making sure that the phone has sufficient balance and charge always.
- Ensuring the correct operation of generators and water pumps (starting and stopping, as well as the correct use of fire extinguishers and knowing their location).
- Informing the direct manager of the arrival of any goods before unloading them, and assist the organization’s staff in carrying heavy materials, if necessary.
- Ensuring that there is no car outside the building after 08:00 pm, and in the event of a car request, please inform the supervisor.
- Not to leave the building (on the street), except in emergency cases.
- Immediately contacting the line manager (supervisor) or the project coordinator in the event of an emergency (such as fire, burglary, generator breakdown … etc.)
Visits are prohibited during business hours.
Requirements:
- Education: No specific requirement, ability to read and write desirable
- Valid driving license
- Experience in the position: Not required
- Languages: Arabic and basic English

WORKING HOURS
Max 12hr shifts (night/day), on the monthly roster, max 208 hours per month – at least 1-day rest per week
