POSITION TITLE: Workshop Controller
REPORT TO: Service Manager
POSITION CONCEPT:
Responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and directing all workshop activities to achieve qualitative and quantitative targets, particularly ensuring that vehicles are completed on time to a high quality to competitive prices whilst controlling workshop costs.Responsible for promoting the workshop image and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitoring workshop productive performance daily by total and individual technician/mechanic.
- Monitoring service department performance
- Ensuring that all rework is correctly processed through the scheduler and that all rework time is accounted
- Ensuring that the workshop schedule reflects accurately what is going on in the
- Ensuring that all of the paperwork processed by the workshop complies with the requirements of the quality
- Ensuring that the workshop is loaded to a maximum at all times by direct liaison with the
- Monitoring the “On-site” stock on the scheduler and ensuring that it reflects accurately what is actually on This should be checked daily.
- Ensuring that all mechanics are clocking at all times by the running of the various reports following the WSC activity list and by a direct link with the Service
- Control over the workshop job
- Highlighting all discrepancies as found via “the workshop activity list” to the respective manager/supervisor.
- Adjusting where necessary clocking times before the closing of the job
- Carrying out all other tasks delegated by the immediate supervisor, not within the scope of this Job
- Ensuring that all rework is prioritized over all work scheduled in the
- Ensuring that information relating to non-completion of work is relayed to the respective FFS as soon as the information is
- Ensure all chargeable materials are recorded on job cards for invoicing
- Advise and report on vehicle faults and servicing requirements noticed while working on vehicles, including future service/repair
- Seek to identify additional work to be undertaken and communicate this to Reception and customer-facing personnel to gain customers’ approval to undertake

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels of the department in line with budget and business
- Ensure subordinates have clear objectives and challenging
- Ensure subordinates receive appropriate guidance and training. Recommend training required by all subordinates regularly and specifically at the time of annual
- Maintain continuous two-way communications with the team to better understand their concerns and needs.
